Don`t be safe nor sorry!

"I am a girl, I am a mother, I am a sister, and I am a woman." These are the words that you can hear randomly while walking on a road or travelling by train or bus. Perplexing! Isn`t it?

Well! Whenever a girl is teased, then a girl can only say these words with confusion in her mind. Why he did it? Am I not a human? Why do they always treat me as an object?

Most people say, "C'mon! Life is full of challenges. You don't have to argue with fools."

Okay! Then what one should do? Let someone babble or be ominous?

I know some answers are: Don't eat noodles... Don't go out after 6.. Don't travel at night... Don't walk with your head held up. Yup! Now that's also babbling!

I have been to various places and been friends with many people. The stories that they have described me shows the myopic and prejudiced ways of society and of those people. These are some of the scary stories that just left me speechless::

A beautiful soul!

Those holidays after long chronicle semesters of study used to be always right. Jollity that I used to feel was way more than what I could express in words. In the lap of snow flaked mountains and near lush green paddy fields, it was heaven on earth. Like it had been, one beautiful morning, my friend and I were playing with the cows and goats in the fields. One can never feel more dazzled with these creatures with their deadly horns and teeth like they can break a person into halves very easily yet gives you so much love and peace. My friend is an active girl. She has a way with people and can understand who is who? One of her relatives asked her to bring something from her neighbours. She went there and after some time what I heard was her shouting, "Leave me.". She came back running towards me, hugged me and started crying. She explained to everybody that the way he touched her was not good. And everybody said that the girl was a kid and took it in the wrong direction. I just gave her a hug. I was only 14 yrs. Old!

18 years old! Young and vibrant!

Ebullient to achieve her dreams and works hard for them. She goes to the library after general classes. One day, it gets a bit dark, and she asks a friend to leave her halfway. She couldn't help noticing a car with black windows following her. She keeps on walking. Her friend went with her halfway, and after that, it was just a two-minute walk to PG. It was dark and had recently rained. Nobody was there during those two minutes. As she entered the crossroad, three cars with black windows surrounded her. Without a second thought, she ran into bushes and came into a colony on the other side. She knew those guys wouldn't be able to follow her there. Trembling, shaking and shocked, she entered the PG. She narrated the whole incident to the PG owner. Alas! She was asked to change PG because now she was a problem for other girls!

Talented and Employed!

She can afford her life's conveniences. A little bit of trouble here and there sometimes. But it's okay! That's life. One day for the prestigious occasion of Holi, she was going back to her parent's home. She travels now in a VOLVO. The ticket cuts more than 1000 rupees from her credit card for just one side journey, but she thinks security is the priority. Around 1 am a person almost 50 tries to touch her in a very wrong way. She ignores it for the first time, thinking it's a mistake. Then it happens again. She complains to the conductor, who silently asks her to change her seat, but she makes sure to ask that older man for an apology. Everybody thought maybe it was a mistake. There are own profits of being successful, and then there are girls!

These stories are so sickening that it just leaves you wondering. Some people will still say, "Not a big deal. She is safe ." Well! It's a big deal. These things don't end with the story. It's a big deal how that little girl after that didn't get out for two days and stopped playing with her friend.

It`s a big deal for that vibrant girl for whom that incident haunted for years. It`s a big deal for a girl who couldn`t help her more, because after all the hard work she is still a piece of meat! And yes, It`s a big deal because that little, the vibrant and the successful girl is the same person walking every day with those childhood traumas and still fighting no matter those incidents have broken her mentally and emotionally.

India now ranks as the 1st most unsafe place in the world for girls.
These stories are happening every day. She is your next door neighbor,
your sister, your mother, your love!

She is everywhere... Listen to her and protect her!

She needs you!

Your mother needs you!

Your sister needs you!

The love of your life needs you...And for those brave little vibrant hearts :

Don`t be safe nor sorry!
